Denis Haslehurst - Funeral Arrangements

The service will be held at Claremount Methodist Church Wallasey at 12 noon on Tuesday June 19^th.  

Donations to Asthma research.
Afterwards there will be a reception at Wallasey Golf Club.

Denis was born on the 7th September 1929 and died 8th June 2007. He first attended The Wallasey Grammar School in 1938, where his rugby career began. On leaving school he undertook his national service in the R.A.F. It was on leaving the forces that he joined New Brighton Rugby Club and he remained a stalwart of the club up to his death, supporting our 1st team until the end. He worked for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board and on his early retirement became secretary of Wallasey Golf Club for 7 years. He was also a member of The Old Wallaseyan's Club where he became president in 1996 and 1997. Denis also loved being on stage with various operatic societies, but more recently with St. Paul's Operatic Society.

Denis will be sadly missed by anyone who knew him and leaves his wife Norma, children Stephen and Janet,  grandson James and sister Dorothy and her husband Peter Turner.
