Tynedale were off the mark within two minutes of the start with a Phil Belgian penalty goal followed,
some five minutes later, by Andy Murray putting Scott Breerton in for a try converted by Phil Belgian.
Almost from the restart Steve Dean reduced the deficit with a penalty goal and some controlled forward pressure resulted in a try for
Damian Penisini on 15 minutes to bring the score to 8 points to 10 at the end of the first quarter.

The match became out of sight for the Blues when Rupert Neville and Ed Holmes ran in tries and another Belgian
conversion raised the score to 11 - 36. Vinny Dutton replaced Sean Ellis and Mark Dorrington replaced Anthony Probert at prop
for New Brighton before the Northumberland side broke away for Jack Harrison to go behind the posts for another simple conversion.
Lewis Mullen came on for Phil Buckley for the last few minutes but efficient scrum half Neville scored his second
try from a blind side move and narrowly missed the conversion.
The Blues never gave up and were rewarded with a try by Ali Childs who nipped away from a scrum for a try in the corner
in the last move of the game.

A competent Tynedale completed the double over
New Brighton with a convincing 48 points to 16 victory at Hartsfield on Saturday. New Brighton put up a great fight with Andy Donaldson and Steve Fox
battling hard in the second row, Kati Tui'pulotu his usual excellent self in the back row and Steve Dean efficient at fly half. Though the defence was
admirable for the most part the pace of the Tynedale backs was decisive and they managed to break through on seven occassions.
A tap penalty caught the defence napping for Garnish Smiles to run in under the posts, again converted by Belgian,and although
Steve Dean was again on target with a penalty goal, Stuart Johnson rounded off the first half scoring with a try in injury
time, breaking from deep in his own half. The reliable Belgian again on target.
