With some new faces in the side and some positional changes New Brighton took time to settle in this match against top of the table Waterloo and found themselves trailing by four tries by the end of the first quarter. A Lee Brogan penalty goal settled the side and when Mike Smith reduced the deficit by picking up at the base and squeezing up the blind side for a nice try the Blues started to function well. The haemourrhage was stemmed and the Blues held the deficit to 19 points at half time Half Time Score: New Brighton 2nd 8 - 27 Waterloo 2nd Craig Kerr and Sean Ellis were outstanding in the second half, putting up a stout defence.
