New Brighton 2nd XV Hit By Injuries

Late withdrawals and the forced introduction of a couple of guest players did not leave the 2nd XV in the best of shape to meet the challenge from a reasonable Chester side with home advantage. New Brighton chose to play with the slope in the first half, hoping to defend a lead after half time. However, though Mike Smith kicked a penalty goal and converted a try scored by GED Buckley, Chester capped it all with three tries and two conversions to give a half time score of 19 points to 10.

With Kevin Pollard off the field injured, the Blues struggled in the second half with no improvement on their first half score. Chester improved with another three tries and two conversions.
