Is This a Record?
Veteran prop Kevin Pollard probably holds the record as the oldest player ever to represent a team in the National Leagues.
Celebrating his 55th birthday next month, Kevin who still plays regularly on the second and third teams, was brought into the side to be the forward replacement on the bench for the National League 3 fixture against Leicester Lions. Previously, he had played 238 1st XV games over a period of 18 years with the last appearance in 1995 – 6.
While celebrating his comeback til late in the evening on Saturday he made it clear how upset he would be if he was dropped for the next game.
Well done Kev and long may it continue.
